I was painting my wheels and only finished one before the back right kept me out for an hour trying unsuccessfully to remove it. The one I did is still pretty bad, but it’s an improvement. But it’s still the only one, because it got too dark out. Because of rust. I might buy some exterior house paint and brush it on instead tomorrow.

Did you kick the shit out of the tire in the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions? That usually works.

I jam something (with some consideration as to what is being leveraged against) between the inside of the wheel and the suspension to just pop it off. Stuck on rotors I use the nail removing part of a hammer and lever it off

I of course can’t post a photo from mobile right now but picture Jeremy Clarkson suggesting you use a hammer

Are you having trouble with removing the lug nuts, or is the wheel “frozen” to the hub after you removed them?
For the lug nuts, you can get a corded electric impact wrench from Harbor Freight with impact sockets for ~$100. It works great for just such an occasion.
For removing the wheel after you get the lug nuts loose, try putting them back on finger-tight, lowering it back on the ground, then rock it back & forth a few times. You may need to drive it a foot or two then hit the brakes. That will usually get it loose.

Sometimes I think about moving back east. Then posts like this remind me of why I don’t really want to do that.
I would try loosening everything, lowering the truck, rolling it forward and back (maybe rocking it too) then try again.

I like this, janky and effective. 4/5 shade trees

Can confirm. Rust sucks.

You should remove the wheel, try freeing it on the side of the road with a flat.
Put a little (and I mean a very tiny little ant head size dot ) of antisei ze on the threads too. Too much and the nut could back out, but I never had that issue.

Just be careful retorquing if you go with the anti seize as the slip means you’ll tighten it more without realizing it

Can confirm that the $100 impact from HB is amazing. Its always worked for me in the last year or so since I have owned it.

Is the impact I have. No impact sockets that came with it but is a decent price and as worked great the handful of times I’ve used it. Only complaint is it’s so big I couldn’t use it on a few upgrades where it would have been incredible. I think a few suspension bolts I couldn’t get to

Gotta have the array of a sledge, dead blow, rubber, and well you can never have too many hammers

It’s the wheel itself. I'll try that in the morning.

I’ve loosened them (Just shy of finder tight ) and drive over the bump at my driveway apron. Works every time.
